say goodbye to stuck zippers

The modern zipper is an amazing invention, but I think we all know how infuriating it is when you get stuck. While online hacks suggest using a lubricant such as Vaseline or olive oil to fix the jam, what if there was a device that could do the job without the mess? Well, Japanese outerwear brand NANGA has teamed up with manufacturer YKK to design a small resin piece weighing just 1.6 grams that can be attached to zippers to prevent them from getting caught.

Developed especially for NANGA’s sleeping bags, the special resin accessory fills the gap between the two sides that are zipped together. This therefore reduces the risk of the zipper getting caught and prevents the fabric from being damaged.

The designers chose resin to create the piece to keep it light. They also made it glow in the dark so NANGA sleeping bags are easy to open and close even after the sun goes down. The product only costs ¥550, or about $4, and it is also compatible with other sleeping bags and garments with the same YKK zipper size.
