The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore will soon begin the application process for the recently launched BTech course in Mathematics and Computer Science.
“Applications will soon be open for our new BTech in Mathematics and Computer Science. The program will allow you to gain practical experience in #math, #AI & #ML, computational science, theoretical comp. sci., quantum computing, signal processing, comp. biology and mathematical finance,” the institute tweeted.
Admission to the four-year course will be granted through the Advanced Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the program will start in August 2022.
More details on the eligibility criteria to apply for the course are awaited.
The new undergraduate program seeks to enter a niche with the aim of “producing future leaders who will be at the forefront of research, development and innovation in the futuristic disciplines and next-generation technologies that require in-depth use of mathematics, computing and data”. science,” the institute had said earlier.
The four-semester program will include six courses each in the areas of mathematics and computer science, in addition to courses in the sciences, humanities and other engineering disciplines.
“Study streams have been designed in Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computational Sciences, Theoretical Computing, Quantum Computing, Signal Processing, Computational Biology and Mathematical Finance. Students can opt for research/industry projects in their fourth year,” the IISC had said.
After earning a BTech in math and computer science, students can also opt for an MTech degree by taking an extra year and project credit, the institute informed.
