Boulder County, Colo. –
On Sunday, May 15, 2022 at approximately 3:22 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a report from a member of the public regarding a possibly deceased male just off the Sanitas Ridge Trailhead at Mount Sanitas Open Space.
Boulder County Communications dispatched sheriff’s deputies with the Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District, City of Boulder Open Space Mountain Park Rangers, and American Medical Response paramedics. Upon arrival, they determined the individual to be a 21-year-old male who had sadly passed away.
Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Detectives and Boulder County Coroner’s Office Investigators were notified and responded to investigate. Upon completion of the on-site investigation, the deceased man was evacuated to the trailhead by rescuers from the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group
The death investigation is ongoing. For the moment, no foul play is suspected. The official cause and manner of death, along with the identification of the deceased, will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
Personnel from the following agencies responded to assist: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Mountain Parks Rangers, City of Boulder Fire Protection District Boulder Mountain, American Medical Response and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
